“It’s really imperative that we train more
bilingual social workers.” -Dr. McClain Sampson

GCSW and Principle Investigator for GLOBE, Professor McClain Sampson says 60 percent of the mental health services in Texas are provided by social workers, but in Harris county their numbers are in decline. It’s an issue especially challenging for those clients with language barriers.

The Global Leaders of Behavioral-health Education (GLOBE) program at the GCSW is leading the way providing training for the next generation of bilingual social workers who will serve the needs of the greater Houston community.
